21st ISQUA International Conference & AGM
ISQua 21 st International Conference, Armsterdam, 19 th – 22 nd October 2004
The theme of the conference was “Patient Central”. MSQH were represented by Honorary Secretary Dr M A Kadar Marikar and Vice President, Puan Sri Datin Dr Suraiya Hani Tun Hussein
Some of the topics discussed in the plenary session were:
- New roads in integrating professional and organisational quality;
- Transforming healthcare into a new level of performance;
- Putting patients first and leading transformational change;
ISQua 22 nd International Conference, Vancouver, 25 th – 28 th October 2005
The theme of the conference was “Innovating for Quality”. MSQH were represented by Honorary Secretary Dr M A Kadar Marikar and Board Member, Dr Ravindran Jegasothy. Dr Ravindran presented a paper titled “Reducing Maternal Mortality through Quality Initiatives: Case Study from Malaysia”
Some of the topics discussed in the plenary session were:
- Facts, fallacies and forward thinking for quality globally;
- Impact of financial incentives on internal motivation of health professionals;
- Tools for implanting system-wide quality improvement activities
whilst other con-current sessions focused on issues related to patient safety, measurement on accreditation and external evaluation, primary and long term care, leadership/e-health/workforce and quality.
ISQua Annual General Meeting (AGM)
ISQua AGM was conducted on the second day of the 21 st and 22 nd Conference, 21 st October 2004 and 27 th October 2005 respectively. The 21 st Conference meeting was attended by Dr M.A.Kadar Marikar while the 22 nd Conference meeting was attended by Dr M.A.Kadar Marikar together with Dr Ravindran Jegasothy.
